After graduation from the eighth grade (Garvey) I went on summer vacation in a small town near Grants Pass Oregon.
I ended up staying there with my grandparents and starting high school in Cave Junction. I returned to California and MKHS for the second half of our sophomore year.
In August before the start of our Junior year I seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in Oregon. As a result of this accident I missed two semesters of high school.
So while I was originally part of the class of 1965 I actually graduated in 1966.
Went to work for Pacific Telephone in 1966 and married Anna Hrdonka (class of 1965) in 1968. Anna and divorced after having a daughter and son together.
I remarried in 1986 and my wife Mary and I live in Concord Ca. Mary and I both were managers at Pacific Telephone and were offered a buy-out in 1991, which we took.
After retiring I was hired back to the phone company and worked domestically and internationally as a consultant until 1997.
In 1997 I was offered a position at the University of California Berkeley. I retied from Cal in 2005 and have worked (part time) as a freelance sports photographer since.
