Here's a snapshot of my last 50 years:
I studied Spanish at UCLA, library science at USC and linguistics at CSULB. I was a reference librarian at L.A. Central Library, mostly as the Humanities Specialist for the State of California Answering Network.

Now I enjoy painting, photography and writing (mostly about language and art). You can see some of my work at judyherman.com.

I met my husband, John Wessel, 40 years ago on a Sierra Club hike. We're still hiking near our home in Palos Verdes several times a week and in Aspen every summer when we go for the music festival. We made it up to American and Cathedral Lakes again this year. Woo-hoo!
